The realities of the modern world of Internet and
gadgets demonstrate that young people prefer virtual life to real
communication, many students tend to spend time on social
networking than doing exercises. Thus, time spent on using a
smartphone not for entertainment but for studying foreign
languages allows to turn the process of learning into an exciting
activity. The article is aimed at analyzing the possibilities of using
social networks in the process of learning foreign languages. The
advantages of social networks as a means of learning English are
outlined. Didactic peculiarities of current popular social networks,
such as Lang-8, Mylanguageexchange, Interpals, Youtube,
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok are paid attention to. It is proved that
social networks serve as platforms to improve the students’
foreign language communication skills – reading, listening,
speaking and writing as well as spelling, grammar and
pronunciation. Besides, students are sure to develop their
creativity, critical thinking, cooperation and other soft skills.
Natalia Gostishcheva, Tetiana Kharchenko Copyright (c) 2025 Scientific Bulletin Melitopol State Pedagogical University. The authors consider philosophy not only as a body of knowledge
or theoretical doctrines, but also as a dynamic space for the development of
intellectual initiative, interdisciplinary thinking and humanitarian reflection.
Particular attention is paid to the challenges facing philosophical education
in the context of globalization, digitalization and social uncertainty. It is noted
that the key goal of philosophical teaching in higher education is not the
mechanical transmission of canonical knowledge, but the creation of a
stimulating environment for independent, critical and creative thinking of
students.
The paper emphasizes the need to update the methodological tools of the
teacher: the use of case methods, problem-based learning, dialogic forms
of communication, the philosophical essay as a genre of personal reflection,
and digital humanities. The creative teacher acts as a moderator of
philosophical search, which is characterized by openness to experiments,
interdisciplinarity and the involvement of non-standard sources of
knowledge – literature, art, cinema, social media.
The importance of developing students' communicative competence
through participation in philosophical dialogues, debates, group projects,
and other forms of interactive work is emphasized. Such methods contribute
to the formation of the ability to reasonably express one's own position, listen
to an opponent, and engage in constructive debate, which is extremely
valuable for the professional and social self-realization of a young person.
As a result, the authors prove that philosophy in its creative dimension can
become an important factor in the formation of humanitarian culture,
intellectual independence and civic responsibility of student youth.
Afanasieva Liudmyla, Hlebova Natalia, Glyns'ka Liudmyla Copyright (c) 2025 Scientific Bulletin Melitopol State Pedagogical University. The article analyzes how
virtual subcultures affect communication, interaction, and behavior of people, what
factors contribute to their development, as well as their positive and negative impact on
society.
The study showed that virtual subcultures are actively shaping new social models,
influencing socialization, identity, and communication. They have become an integral
part of young people’s lives, offering new ways of expressing themselves, interacting,
and associating by interests regardless of geographic location, which changes traditional
approaches to social interaction.
The significance of this study lies in the fact that it provides a deeper analysis of the
mechanisms of virtual subculture and its impact on society, including young people.
