Psychosocial stress and its influence on the educational process of students specializing in «Practical psychology» at higher educational institution.
Abstract
The screening study of level indicators of psychosocial stress was carried out among 88 students-psychologists at Melitopol Bohdan Khmelnytsky State Pedagogical University (Melitopol) with the age range of students from 18 to 47 years of whom there were 76 girls and 12 boys. The research was based on L. Reeder’s method. Due to the small number of the surveyed males, the research results were processed without any reference to gender.
The study showed different levels of psychosocial stress of students-psychologists studying both full-time and part-time. We consider the detected high and medium levels of psychosocial stress of students as a donozological state that could form a somatic pathology in the surveyed group in case of downturn of the political and economic situation in the country.
Considering low average marks of performance among these students it is to be mentioned that the contingent of students could have higher academic progress. On the basis of the factor analysis results which identified the internal and external stress factors of students-psychologists both of full-time and part-time education, we can assume that these factors together may cause a negative influence on pedagogic process in the group of surveyed.
