Abstract

The article analyzes contemporary approaches to the methodology of teaching the language, which attaches great importance to the development of oral and written speech, the linguistic culture of the individual. The communicative approach involves an effective methodology for developing communication skills. Among the directions in the work of the teacher-translator is a communicative component that is programmed to master the generalized modes of communication which are necessary for communication. The basic unit of coherent speech is the expanded statement, the text. One of the traditional types of work for the development of coherent speech for students is an exposition with its methodological history and versatile methodological support. This type of work, being a means of training and testing knowledge and skills, allows you to simultaneously assess the level of language, speech and communicative competence.
