Early Stage Peculiarities of Writing Competence Developing in English

Abstract

The article is devoted to the issue of peculiarities of English writing competence developing by students of the Language Training Department of the Institute of Public Administration in the Sphere of Civil Protection. The author investigates the peculiarities of performance in the learning process from the point of view of transfer and interference issues on the level of the language knowledge, language skills and language awareness during graphic and spelling subcompetencies developing; pedagogical premises of efficient learning process are focused on. Having analyzed the oversea and local scientists points of views on the essence of the handwriting competence, the author arrives at the conclusion that in order to reach the affordable language level of the learners, they should get certain language knowledge, develop calligraphic skills of certain letters and letter combinations of the language and spelling skills of the language according to the appropriate spelling rules system, perfect the language awareness of the peculiarities of handwriting competence of the English language. According to the main spelling principals (phonological, morphological, historical), the lexis within 600 units is analyzed and the methodological approach of efficient receptive-reproductive writing skills is suggested.
