Abstract

The article reveals the content of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the personal and professional development of the teacher (based on the Concept of the New Ukrainian School). The shortcomings in the organization of teaching natural sciences are identified, the main approaches to the formation of research skills of students as future teachers of biology and geography, namely: competence and «learning through research» are revealed. Scientifically oriented training at the university is a promising direction for the development of education and the formation of a future competent specialist, therefore, it is advisable to carry out further work on the development of this problem in the direction of designing the software and methodological support for the appropriate type of training. When planning biology lessons, when forming special and general educational biological concepts among students, one should take into account the psychological basis for building a lesson, due to the fact that the process of cognition consists of several stages (sensations, perceptions, ideas, concept formation and operations with concepts) that cause Lesson stages of learning new knowledge and skills, and form competence. We found out that the teacher’s professionalism includes the following areas: 1) student-oriented vocational training – theoretical and scientific teacher awareness, creativity, intellectual and operational personality traits, and emotionality; 2) the methodological level of teacher training for the implementation of the Concept of the New Ukrainian School with students;3) teacher's professionalism in the pedagogical process (competence, decision-making, gnostic skills, skills, actions); 4) the creation by the teacher of a harmonious educational space in the educational process; 5) the psychodynamics of the teacher (the intensity of the experiences, the speed of their shift, the load and difficulties in the profession); 6) integral characteristics of the personality of the teacher (creativity as creativity, self-awareness, individual style of work.
