Abstract

The article deals with the psychological and pedagogical aspect of the problem of developing musical interest in younger adolescents; it also reveals the historical and theoretical aspects of the problem of such interest formation, as well as the individual and psychological features of developing interest in musical performance. Interest is one of the structural components of human culture. We understand social interest as the cause of social actions, events and accomplishments. It stands behind the direct intentions (motives, thoughts, ideas, desires, etc.) of the individuals involved in these actions – these are social groups, associations, peoples, classes. The content and nature of a person’s interest are related both to the structure and dynamics of his motives and needs, and to the nature of the forms and means of visualizing the reality which he possesses. In the context of emerging cognitive activity, the content of interest can be enriched by absorbing new connections of the subject world. In this regard, we consider the interest in the pedagogical aspect as a form of expression of cognitive need that provides the focus of the individual on the awareness of the purpose of activity. In this way, it facilitates orientation in new facts, familiarization with them, and a deeper and fuller reflection of reality. Of particular importance for the development of interest in younger adolescents is the specificity of activities such as musical performance. Didactic playing and fantasizing (improvisation) on a musical instrument are the most powerful factors in the development of students’ interest in musical performance.
