Peculiarities of English language teaching to senior students with special educational needs
Abstract
The article deals with the specifics of the work of a foreign language teacher with students with special educational needs. This is, in particular, the ability of the teacher to develop accessible, adapted learning materials; ability to design individual training programs for participants in an inclusive education process; introduction into the practice of partnership pedagogy; informing parents of their children’s success in mastering the educational program; knowledge of individual characteristics, interests and needs of students. Emphasis is placed on the need for psychological and pedagogical support for high school students with special educational needs when teaching English, in particular English speaking. Interactive methods are considered to be most effective in an inclusive educational process.
