Intercultural competence as a component of future Primary School English teacher’s professional and methodological competence
Abstract
The article deals with the analysis of literary sources concerning the differentiation of the concepts of intercultural competence and sociocultural competence of the future teacher of English language. The scientists’ opinions as for the concept of teacher's competence are also presented in the article. The authors define the concept of intercultural competence and identify the place of intercultural competence in the structure of professional and methodological competence of the future teacher of English. The article gives a detailed description of the peculiarities of implementation of innovative Methodology Curriculum into the educational process of Melitopol State Bohdan Khmelnitsky Pedagogical University. The authors outline the issues of intercultural communication within the framework of innovative Methodology Curriculum and describe the Module on intercultural competence of the future English teacher.
