Abstract

Currently, a new pedagogy has been created and is actively developing in the world, the
characteristic feature of which is the use of multimedia technologies in the education of
children and adults. Multimedia tools also create new opportunities for the mental
development of older preschool children. In modern foreign educational systems,
multimedia learning tools have been actively implemented for quite a long time, and ideas
have been developed regarding their effective use in working with preschool children.
Also, the study and adaptation of the experience of specialists in this field, the analysis of
scientific achievements of foreign pedagogy in comparison with the achievements of the
Ukrainian preschool education system will allow them to be effectively introduced into the
domestic educational space and have a positive impact on the quality of preschool
education. After all, through joint efforts and research, it is possible to better understand
how multimedia technologies affect the development of children and how to use them in
the best possible way. The study of the use of multimedia tools in the education and
upbringing of preschool children includes the work of various scientists and specialists in
the field of education, psychology and information technologies. The article analyzes the
ideas of some famous foreign researchers (Jane Higgins, David Boulton, Laura Berk, Jean
Piaget, Jerome Bruner, Lisa Guernsey), whose works may be related to this topic. Among
the authors mentioned, Jean Piaget has no works directly devoted to the study of the
impact of multimedia on preschool children. However, many of his works can be useful for
understanding the general principles of a child's cognitive development and using these
principles in the context of studying the effects of multimedia. The works and ideas of the
rest of the researchers mentioned in the article are in many respects consistent with the
ideas of domestic teachers. Advice and warnings to parents and educators regarding the
use of multimedia tools by children are quite relevant for modern society.
