Professional competencies of the future teacher-musician: essence, content, structure (conductor and choral aspect)

Abstract

The article updates the problem of training a future teacher-musician. Attention is
focused on conducting, as one of the most complex and specific types of professional
activity of a future specialist. The peculiarities of the professional competence of the
future teacher-musician in the process of conducting and choral training are
highlighted. The views of scientists regarding the interpretation of the concept of
professional competence are analyzed. In general, professional competence is
considered as the readiness and ability of a specialist to make effective decisions for
the implementation of professional activities and is a set of key, basic and special
competences. Key, basic and special competencies are characterized and their
essence is revealed. The formation of professional competences, which depend on
the subject field and are necessarily important in the professional activity of a teachermusician, is indicated. Attention is focused on the activity approach as a method of
organizing the professional training of a future specialist for successful practical
activity. The importance of the connection of conducting with classes in the choir class
is emphasized. During the study of choral works, it is proposed to build an educational
process according to the technological cycle: "perception – analytical study –
reproduction". The views of outstanding personalities of the modern national
conducting and choral school on the profession of conductor-choirmaster are
analyzed. The components of the structure of conducting and choral training are
defined. The content of the communicative component was analyzed. It is indicated
that the communicative component is an important integrative quality of the
personality in the professional activity of the conductor-choirmaster, which determines
the productivity of solving professionally significant tasks in the process of
communication with the choir. It is indicated that the communicative component is an
