Assessment as a means for students’ cognitive activity development.

Abstract

The author of the article considers the issue of students’ progress assessment and examines the connection between the assessment process and students’ cognitive activity intensification. A number of contradictions between the assessment and the development of students’ cognitive activity are defined in the article.
