Biology textbook as the basis of developing integral knowledge of schoolchildren.
Abstract
The article deals with the scientifically justified problems of structuring the educational material in Biology textbook. Biology textbook is considered to be the pattern of the educational process which reflects the goals and the content of the educational process, the principles of the didactics, the process and technology of teaching. The article depicts the main functions and the structure of the textbook. The basis of the Biology textbook is fundamental biological knowledge and skills, invariative knowledge, which contributes to the integral perception of the environmental reality from the biological point of view and provides implementation of the productive and creative teaching of Biology in the educational establishments.
