Spiritually-humanistic, cultural actualization of understanding the religious and ethical achievements of the Renaissance culture.

Abstract

The article examines the achievements of ethnic and cultural heritage, particularly attention is paid to religious ideas as the basis of high humanistic ideas flourishing in Ukraine. The special attention is given to the peculiarities of Ukrainian Renaissance: whereas in Europe humanism was focused on the prevention of theological themes and sharp turn to secular subjects, in Ukraine it was through religion that helped to develop education, science and public initiatives. Common property in this area is the attention to human rights. In terms of foreign invasion and catholicizing it was relevant for Ukrainians to defend the right to inherit their faith, language, education, cultural heritage, self-perfection and self-determination. The rights of Ukrainians to their Faith, Will, culture have been sustained by scientists, intellectuals, clergy, Cossacks, officers, princes, educators, philanthropists, and they were defended by the Cossacks and members of brotherhoods. The authors analyzed national traditions that were based on respect for the Christian code and that were aimed at improving the man, educating patriots, defenders of their culture.
