Abstract

The education system is one of those areas that have felt the most negative impact of
military operations in Ukraine. The use of a wide range of ICT improved the actual
quality of teaching disciplines in institutions of higher education, and ensured the
transition of Ukrainian education to a new level. However, the rapid spread of distance
education in the world not only opened wide opportunities for students and teachers,
but also posed many challenges to them. The work emphasizes that distance learning
methods are not appropriate enough in the conditions of war in Ukraine, and might
even lose their effectiveness, need to be revised, adapted and improved. The article
states that the integration of ICT in education serves many purposes, the most
important of which are free access to educational materials, high mobility and
convenience. The authors highlighted the most effective methods for ensuring a
sufficient level of foreign language training in the conditions of distance education,
among which they singled out the communicative method, the project method, and the
simulation method, the implementation of which is supported by the use of video
conferencing tools and distance learning environments. The main shortcomings and
obstacles in the organization of the learning process were characterized and solutions
were proposed taking into account modern realities in Ukraine. Problems of a
technical nature, the instability of the security situation, being in different countries of
the world lead to the fact that the existing teaching methods need to be revised,
constantly adapted to the rapidly changing situation, and in some places, they
completely lose their relevance. At present, the success of students' training depends
primarily on the readiness and ability of the teacher to organize the most flexible
training process.
