Cossack educational traditions and the use of their elements for upbringing of patriotism in youth
Abstract
The possibilities of the application of the elements of Cossack educational traditions in the modern educational process of secondary and higher education institutions have been considered in the article. The historical and cultural principles of Cossack education have been analyzed, which are based on the combination of military and physical preparation, spiritual and moral values and the high level of civic consciousness. The topicality of Cossack pedagogy is emphasized in the conditions of the revival of national identity and the necessity of the formation of love for the Motherland, readiness to defend it and the active civic position in young people. The ways of the integration of the traditions of the Cossack educational system into the educational activities of the modern schools have been proposed, in particular through the use of folk pedagogy, patriotic games, symbolism, historical reconstructions and collective creative activities. The conclusion has been drawn that Cossack educational traditions are the powerful means of the formation of patriotism and civic maturity of students.
