The role of parental upbringing in shaping Ukrainian national identity in older preschool children
Abstract
The article examines parental upbringing as one of the key factors
in shaping Ukrainian national identity among older preschool
children. Special attention is given to the specific features of
family influence within Ukrainian diaspora communities abroad.
The study views the family as a crucial environment for
transmitting cultural values, traditions, language, and historical
memory, all of which contribute to fostering patriotism and
developing national consciousness.
The importance of parental upbringing at the legislative level is
emphasized, particularly the normative and legal foundations that
regulate national-patriotic education of children. The author
analyzes the methods and forms of parental influence that help
older preschool children become aware of their belonging to the
Ukrainian nation in various socio-cultural contexts.
The significance of cooperation between families and educational
institutions is highlighted as essential for effective national
patriotic education. The author also provides methodological
recommendations for parents and guardians on shaping
Ukrainian national identity in older preschool children.
The relevance of a competent parental approach is defined in the
context of globalization and multiculturalism, and the need for
further research to improve the tools for forming national identity
in preschool-aged children is underscored.
