Development of communication skills in children with disabilities in the process of integration into society

Abstract

The article highlights the problems of comprehensive harmonious development, upbringing and socialization of the personality of a child with disabilities. The results of an empirical study of the development of communication skills in children with disabilities in the process of integration into society are provided. During the research, it was possible to identify the peculiarities of the use of domestic methods and foreign methods, the effectiveness of which has been scientifically proven in European countries and the USA, the purpose of which is the formation and development of communication skills, the development of social skills in children with mental disabilities. Practical significance of the obtained results: the experimental study was conducted on the basis of departments of complex rehabilitation of children with disabilities of Zaporizhzhia City Territorial Center of Social Services (provision of social services). The use of psychological-pedagogical methods (observation, testing, conversation) makes it possible to comprehensively assess the child's level of development according to age and individual characteristics, study the problem and focus on its main aspects. During work, it is necessary to create an atmosphere of trust and goodwill; take into account the physical and emotional state of the child; take into account the individual features of its development; take into account age, place of residence, language of communication, etc.
