The biblical experience of Alien’s deforeignness through the context of contemporary xenological research

  • Марина Будько

Abstract

Despite an abundance of philosophical conceptions and socio-cultural patterns of their approbation the problem of the Other/Alien demonstrates an evident tendency to aggravation and radicalization. What is necessary for establishing full intersubjective and intercultural dialogue is the fundamental knowledge of those cultural, social, psychological mechanisms which determine relations with the Other/Alien.  Gaining such knowledge is possible only through rethinking the experience of human communities co-existence recorded by moral and ethic teachings. Since it took long time to write the text of the Bible and it contains various moral recommendations as for the relations with Aliens that sprang from different cultural and social contexts, the Biblical experience of overcoming the otherness is considered irreplaceable at solving xenological problems of today.
