Cultural space of being “genius loci” (by the example of the toposes of Home and Family Hearth)

Abstract

In the course of the natural space exploration a man filled it with signs and senses – there occurred mythologization, sacralization, axiologization of the space features, their semantization and desemantization, stereotypization. With the lapse of time, the additional definitions were required not only for the primary, natural features, but also for the secondary ones – those which were developed by culture or reinterpreted by it. The presence of such a symbolic metric is manifested in all the phenomena of the human world, primarily in traditional human dwelling, with its sacral center – family hearth. The given research illustrates the regional and cultural peculiarity of the phenomenon “genius loci” in the cultural space of Northern Priazovie by the example of the toposes of Home and Family Hearth.
