Legitimacy gaining by new forms of culture: philosophical reflection

Abstract

Based on culture understanding at the angle of axiology – as a value which is meaningful for man – the author suggests understanding legitimacy of new forms of culture as their recognition from the position of available values, and those values are certain to have an anthropological constant which gains various kinds of concretization in certain socio-cultural contexts. The article analyzes the importance of Max Scheler’s material ethics of values to justify the legitimacy of new forms of culture. The analysis of gains and losses for achieving this purpose in the theory of values after Scheler has been done. The dependence of the norms on values in implementing the procedure of gaining legitimacy by new forms of culture has been determined.
