The concept of «competency» in modern education.

Abstract

The article deals with the concept of «competence in education» under conditions of changing the content of modern education. The author emphasizes the need to create the right conditions, providing relevant knowledge in which the formation of competency and competencies will be realized on the professional level, forming a personality that would be able to respond quickly to demands of the time, efficiently and conscientiously operate in the globalized, information society. Under the current socio-economic conditions of market economy semi-professional activity is impossible for successful management. Now, according to many scientists, we need qualitative changes in thinking of the institution leader. He should have a theoretical background on modern management to operate new concepts, to be able to select and systematically solve current problems, see the prospects of the institution, plan strategy for further development. Renewed thinking of the institution leader will free him from stereotypes, help to show his individuality, to feel personal responsibility for his choice and for the people that he work with, to focus on the results and not on intentions and means, it will promote creativity.
