The views of philosophers and classical educators on responsibility and responsible attitude to parenthood
Abstract
The article analyzes the views of philosophers (E. Rotterdam, J. Comenius, J. Rousseau, J. Pestalozzi) and classical educators (A. Makarenko, V. Sukhomlinsky, M. Stelmakhovich) on the issue of responsibility and responsible attitude to paternity in student youth. It is noted that a certain problem is actualized by the fact that the family ceases to be a child-rearing environment, and young people limit the preparation for the future family life by solving material issues and pay little attention to the responsible attitude towards the future of parenthood. Therefore, it is important to organize the process of preparing young people for the role of father / mother on the basis of the leading ideas of philosophers and classical educators. The purpose of the article is to analyze the views of philosophers and classical teachers on the peculiarities of students' formation of responsibility and responsible attitude to parenthood. In the course of scientific research, research methods were used: analysis, synthesis, generalization and systematization. The concept of “responsibility” is designated as the maximum expression of the subjective position of the person in the activity; voluntary undertaking of guarantees to ensure the conditions for its implementation, guarantees of its results, willingness to be responsible for any consequences. Responsible attitude to parenthood in students is considered as a stable internal quality of a person (as an element of consciousness), based on a person’s awareness of his own life choice and willingness to independently solve the problems related to future family life, family planning, birth and upbringing of children, and reflects the adoption of a system of his own responsible dependence on members of his family and society. It is noted that both philosophers and classical educators focused on the need to form responsibility among young people as a personal quality and responsible attitude to parenthood as a personal value.
