Special features of teaching workplace safety for students in the conditions of distance learning

Abstract

The article deals with the psychological and pedagogical aspects
of the introduction of innovative forms and methods of teaching in
the process of studying workplace safety.
It is noted that teaching employees and managing staff workplace
safety, their keeping to the requirements of workplace safety,
labor law, as well as providing first aid is an effective tool of
decreasing the number of occupational injuries and professional
diseases. All these factors depend on the quality training of
students in workplace safety. The aim of such courses as
“Workplace Safety” (“Life safety and fundamentals of workplace
safety”) and “Workplace safety in the field of study”, which are
taken by HEI students, is to teach future specialists to feel
confident in general and particular articles of labor law, as well as
in the organization of workplace safety in their future professional
activity.
On the basis of a questionnaire survey, the authors clarified the
reasons for insufficient use of innovative technologies, as well as
future prospects in teaching workplace safety in the conditions of
distance learning. The article highlights the Internet technologies
which teachers use while teaching such educational components
as “Life safety and fundamentals of workplace safety”, “Workplace
Safety” and “Workplace safety in the field of study”. The important
task of the activities provided by higher education institutions is
improvement of teaching “Workplace Safety” by using innovative
educational technologies in the educational process. It is
especially relevant in the conditions of distance learning. It was
determined that the introduction of innovations in the field of
workplace safety becomes possible under the conditions of
performing certain preparatory work.
