The theatre at elementary school: the history of development.

Abstract

This article deals with the key moments in the development of theatrical art in general and the use of theatre arts in elementary school. In this paper, the author turns attention to the state of theatre arts from Kievan Rus’s time till the early twentieth century. In particular, theatrical  traditions of ancient Rus, educational activities of communities and fraternities, as well as single teachers – M. Stavrovetskyi, I.Komenskyi, A.Makarenko, V.Sukho-mlynskyi, K. Ushinskyi, S. Shatskyi  etc.
