Policy regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI)

1. General terms

The journal ‘Scientific Bulletin of Melitopol State Pedagogical University (Series: Pedagogy)‘ recognises that artificial intelligence technologies can be a helpful tool in preparing scientific publications. The use of AI must comply with the principles of academic integrity, scientific accuracy and transparency.

2. Acceptable areas of AI use

Authors may use AI as a tool for:

  • searching and analysing literature and sources (with subsequent verification of authenticity);
  • improving the style of presentation, grammar and linguistic quality of the text;
  • creating graphic illustrations, diagrams and visualisations that do not affect the scientific content;
  • translating, editing or formatting a manuscript;
  • performing technical checks (spelling, structural logic, formatting).

All AI tools used should only serve to supplement the author's work, not replace their expert judgement.

3. Unacceptable areas of AI use

The use of AI is forbidden in cases where it may call into question the scientific validity or originality of the work:

  • automatic generation of scientific content (formulation of tasks, description of methods, analysis of results) that has not been verified by the authors;
  • creation or correction of bibliographies without verification, which may lead to fictitious or incorrect references;
  • paraphrasing or rewriting other people's texts to mask plagiarism;
  • using AI as a ‘co-author’ – artificial intelligence systems cannot be recognised as authors or co-responsible for scientific results.

4. Author's responsibility

The author(s) are fully responsible for the content, scientific accuracy and interpretation of the results;

The use of AI does not exempt authors from their obligation to ensure originality and compliance with ethical standards;

In case of violation of the AI policy, the editorial board has the right to request revisions, reject or recall the article.

5. Journal principles

The policy has been developed taking into account the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and leading international scientific publishers. The journal seeks to maintain a balance between innovative technologies and academic integrity, ensuring transparency, reliability and trust in published materials.
