Moral Education of Adolescents through Musical Art
Abstract
The article explores the issue of moral education of adolescents
through musical art. The author emphasizes the importance of
adolescence as a period of intensive formation of moral qualities
and highlights the need to use art as an effective pedagogical
tool. Musical art is considered a powerful educational medium
capable of influencing the emotional sphere, shaping aesthetic
taste and spiritual values, and developing moral sensitivity and
humanistic orientation. The article provides an overview of the
psychological and pedagogical aspects of music’s influence on
adolescent personality, outlines the potential of school music
education and extracurricular activities in forming moral traits.
The author stresses the importance of purposeful pedagogical
activity, which includes not only the study of musical works but
also the discussion of their moral and ethical content. Several
methodological approaches to moral education through music are
proposed, including integration with literature and history,
development of emotional intelligence, musical reflection, and
project-based learning. Particular attention is given to the use of
music therapy elements for fostering empathy, kindness, and
cooperation. The material is grounded in theoretical research by
both Ukrainian and international scholars. The article has
practical value for teachers, educators, and music leaders
working with adolescents, as well as for researchers in the fields
of pedagogy, art education, and psychology.
