Foreign experience in developing media literacy in the professional training of digital technology specialists
Abstract
The article defines that media literacy includes not only the ability to use technologies, but also to be aware of their impact on society, that is, it is a set of skills that includes critical thinking, analytical abilities and ethical principles. The value of media literacy for digital technology professionals cannot be overestimated, as it allows them to effectively perform their professional duties and actively participate in the information space. In addition, the article describes the peculiarities of media literacy formation in the training of digital technology specialists in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France and Canada, which makes it possible to highlight their essential differences. Canada and the USA emphasize critical thinking and social aspects, while Germany and France focus more on technical skills and ethical issues. Great Britain, in turn, combines different approaches, taking into account the peculiarities of media and communications. Analyzing scientific research on the formation of media literacy among future specialists in digital technologies in different countries, it is necessary to emphasize the need to systematize foreign scientific approaches on the specified topic. In particular, the article highlights the following approaches to the formation of media literacy among future specialists in digital technologies: systemic, competent, active, structural-functional, personal-oriented, media education, protecting, andragogic and cultural competence approach. The systematization of scientific research on the formation of media literacy among future specialists in digital technologies in different countries also made it possible to determine the peculiarities in the training of specialists in digital technologies depending on the cultural, social and educational characteristics of each country. This provides an opportunity to gain various experiences that can be useful for the adaptation of media literacy in Ukraine, taking into account modern needs and challenges.
