lia. Chemistry through the prism of digital technologies: possibilities of integration with computer science
Abstract
The article examines the significance of digital technologies for updating the content and methodology of chemistry teaching and substantiates the possibilities of integrating chemistry with computer science based on the STEM/STEAM approach. Modern digital tools for chemistry education (virtual laboratories, computer modeling, cloud platforms, visualization programs, etc.) are reviewed, and examples of their use in educational practice are provided. Specific case studies of integrated lessons and projects combining chemistry and informatics are disscussed. The pedagogical advantages of such integration (increased motivation, development of critical thinking, individualized learning, etc.) are analysed, as well as the challenges (lack of equipment, need for teacher training, language barriers of digital content) and prospects (creation of STEM laboratories, development of digital competence, implementation of augmented and virtual reality) for integrating chemistry with informatics in secondary education.
Keywords: digital technologies; STEM education; subject integration; virtual laboratory; computer science; chemistry education; digital competence.
