The development of social virtues in younger adolescents in institutions of general secondary education as a modern pedagogical problem

Abstract

The article deals with the problems of the development of social virtues in younger adolescents in institutions of general secondary education in modern pedagogy. The analysis of scientific works devoted to the peculiarities of the development of social virtues in younger adolescents is carried out. The state of elaboration of the issue of the development of social qualities in young adolescent students in scientific sources is shown. The ways of achieving the goal of developing social virtues in the conditions of institutions of general secondary education, in the case of a set of interrelated tasks having educational, and value components, are outlined. The development of social virtues is one of the priorities in the general system of education and involves the development of civic consciousness among younger adolescents. In the scientific and pedagogical literature, social virtues are interpreted as a vital refraction of high ethical principles, and it is noted that some social virtues, namely honesty, responsibility, the ability to cooperate, a sense of duty to others, are fundamentally important for the emergence of individual virtues. To achieve this goal, the study of the problems of the development of social virtues assumes a theoretical justification of the problem of the development of social virtues and clarification of the content of the concept of "social virtues in younger adolescents"; identification of the educational potential of institutions of general secondary education for the development of social virtues in younger adolescents; determination of criteria, indicators and levels of development of social virtues in younger adolescents in institutions of general secondary education; development and experimental verification of pedagogical technology for the development of social virtues in younger adolescents in institutions of general secondary education. Considering the above, it can be stated that the actualization of the tasks of developing social virtues in younger adolescents is due to modern sociocultural circumstances. It is in them that it becomes possible to develop social virtues in younger adolescents in the conditions of institutions of general secondary education.
