Designing the educational process in out-of-school education institutions based on a competency approach

Abstract

The article highlights the features of designing the educational process in out-of-school education institutions based on a competency-based approach. It is established that the formation of basic competencies of a student of an out-ofschool education institution consists in mastering social experience, its transformation into one's own values, attitudes, orientations, and subsequently – in reproducing the acquired social experience through activity in the system of social relationships and relations. The key concepts and conceptual apparatus (goal, content, tasks, key principles, forms and methods of implementation) of designing the educational process in out-of-school education institutions based on a competency-based approach are revealed. It was found that the use of a systemic approach when designing educational content involves the principles of integrity, functionality and expediency, which contributes to the systematic construction of specific aspects of the formation of basic competencies of students of out-of-school education institutions. The results of the study show that a clearly organised educational process in out-of-school education institutions based on a competency-based approach will allow young people to comfortably integrate into society, and the process of such integration is characterised by inculturation (a person's entry into the culture of their people), internalisation (the assimilation of behavioral patterns and social meanings), adaptation (the ability to achieve a balance between one's own value orientations and social role) and construction (the modeling of one's own life based on acquired knowledge about the surrounding society).
