Requirements for design and procedure for submitting publications

Manuscripts are accepted twice a year, with submission deadlines on April 30 and October 30 of the current year.

Each author may have only one publication in a given issue of the journal.

The collection of scientific papers “Modern Problems of Modeling” does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, or publication.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ARTICLE FORMAT

Manuscripts should be submitted only in electronic form via e-mail (spirincev_dmytro@mspu.edu.ua) or uploaded directly through the OJS interface: (https://magazine.mdpu.org.ua/index.php/spm) → Register → Submit an article

Language of the manuscript: Ukrainian or English.

Article length: from 0.5 (20,000 characters) to 1 printed sheet (40,000 characters including spaces).
(Menu → Tools → Statistics).

The optimal article length is 0.6 printed sheet.

The text must be prepared using a word processor (MS Word)

Page layout requirements

  • Margins: left, right, top – 2.5 cm; bottom – 2 cm
  • Orientation: portrait
  • Page size: A4 (21 × 29.7 cm)
  • Header distance from top: 1.25 cm
  • Automatic hyphenation: disabled
  • Font: Times New Roman, 14 pt
  • Alignment: justified

Spacing and indentation

  • Line spacing: single (1.0)
  • Paragraph spacing: 0
  • First-line indentation: 1.25 cm

Pages of the manuscript should not be numbered.

PROHIBITION ON THE USE OF SOURCES FROM THE AGGRESSOR STATE

The citation in the text and inclusion in the reference list of sources published in the Russian language in any country are prohibited, as well as sources published in other languages if they were issued in the territory of the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus.

PUBLISHING FORMAT OF THE ARTICLE STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS

  • UDC index (left-aligned); blank line;
  • Article title (uppercase, bold, centered); blank line;
  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI) (to be assigned by the editorial board upon acceptance);
  • Authors’ names and initials, academic degrees (for PhD students (doctoral candidates), a footnote should be provided on the first page indicating the name, initials, academic degree, and academic title of the scientific supervisor (academic advisor)); e-mail addresses, ORCID IDs, H-index (if available). Each co-author’s name should start on a new line;
  • Full name of the institution of the main author, followed in parentheses by the city and country (italic); blank line;
  • Abstract in the original language (not less than 1,800 characters, including keywords; italic; justified alignment);
  • Keywords (up to 10 words; italic; justified alignment);

After a blank line, the main text of the article begins, taking into account all the elements specified in the following section.

A scientific article must be prepared in accordance with the requirements for specialized academic publications approved by the Resolution of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine No. 7-06/1 of January 15, 2003, “On strengthening the requirements for specialized publications included in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine”, and must necessarily contain the following elements:

  • a statement of the problem in a general form and its connection with important scientific or practical tasks;
  • an analysis of recent research and publications in which the solution to the given problem has been initiated and on which the author relies, as well as the identification of previously unresolved parts of the general problem to which the article is devoted;
  • the formulation of the objectives of the article (problem statement);
  • the presentation of the main research material with full justification of the obtained scientific results;
  • conclusions from the study and prospects for further research in the defined direction.

The title of each structural element of the article should be formatted in bold italic, and each element should begin on a new paragraph.

REFERENCES AND FINAL ELEMENTS OF THE ARTICLE

The reference list should be arranged in alphabetical order as a single list at the end of the article, separated by a blank line from the main text. It must be formatted in accordance with the national standard for bibliographic references (DSTU 8302:2015). An active DOI must be provided in the reference list where available.

After the reference list, a blank line should be followed by the title, abstract, and keywords in English (Ukrainian). The abstract must be no less than 1,800 characters (excluding spaces), including keywords. The content and formatting of the abstracts and keywords must be identical.

Before each abstract, the following information must be provided in the corresponding language:

  • the title of the article in uppercase bold letters (centered);
  • on the next line — the authors’ names (Times New Roman (Cyr), 14 pt, italic).

After the final abstracts, the reference list must be duplicated (References) in accordance with the APA Style (7th edition, 2020). At the end of each reference, the language of publication should be indicated in curly brackets (e.g., {in Ukrainian}).

A brief author biography must be provided in both Ukrainian and English, including: full name (surname, given name, patronymic), academic degree, academic title, position, personal e-mail, and the date of the initial submission of the article.

Manuscripts that do not comply with the above requirements will not be considered and will not be accepted for publication!
