ON THE ISSUE OF COMPUTER GEOMETRIC MODELING OF DISK SPHERICAL HILLERS

Abstract

The article considers some issues of computer geometric modeling of agricultural tillage implements such as disk spherical hillers. The relevance of this topic is determined by the following existing facts. One of the leading sectors of our country's economy in the current difficult wartime is the agricultural sector. Therefore, further improvement of the corresponding technical means is an important scientific and applied problem. It is known that computer modeling, in general and geometric modeling in particular, allows effectively achieving the desired results, significantly reducing the need for expensive physical experiments. This determines their current rapid development. This refers to the development of new models, methods, techniques, and algorithms. One of such approaches is the methodology of structural-parametric shaping, proposed by the scientific school of applied geometry of the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute».

A variant analysis of the conceptual design of a disk spherical hiller at the preliminary design stage was selected for illustration in this publication. The issues of the number of simultaneously processed rows, regulation of the distance between them, the depth of cultivation, the diameters of the disks that were used, the radii of their spherical surfaces, the positioning angles relative to the direction of movement of the implement, the various furrow profiles obtained (its cross-sections), the areas, etc. have been considered. A formula is given for determining the minimum angle of rotation of the disk relative to the vertical axis to eliminate undesirable interaction of its rear surface with the ground. For the furrow formed by disk spherical hillers, a mathematical apparatus for defining the possible geometry of its profiles and calculating their areas is presented. Relevant examples of correct management of the specified parameters and characteristics are provided. The methods for flexible adaptation of designed hillers to existing agricultural production conditions are described. Some promising directions for further scientific research on the highlighted topic are outlined.
